Easy Bathroom Upgrades
Since we talked about easy kitchen upgrades in the previous Weekly Update, it seemed only best to move to another part of the house that’s easy to upgrade; the bathroom. So with that said, here are a few ideas for you!
1. Replace the faucets
If you’re not looking to break the bank but want to give your bathroom a bit of a newer look replacing the faucets is an easy way to do so. With lots of options from home improvement stores, (even amazon has some if you’d rather look online!) with a range of prices, it’s a good starting point for a small upgrade.
2. Replace/Re-Tile the Floor
If you want to go for something a little more ambitious, replacing or re-tiling the floor sound like a good option for you! A freshly re-done (or re-tiled) floor can help add cohesion (if you’ve done other things such as re-painting or changing out fixtures) and brightness to the bathroom; so it’s something to consider if you have the time!
3. Change Out The Mirror & Light Fixtures
If you want to do an easy upgrade, consider changing out your light fixtures and mirror! If you feel like what you have might be a little dated have no fear; there’s plenty of places online and in-store where you can get new mirrors, and even mirror cabinets if you’re feeling fancy. You can even get some at Ikea for under $100! Check out what some stores have to offer and see what works best with the ideas you’re envisioning for your new bathroom!
4. Add More Room using A Curved Curtain Rod
One of the easiest things you can do to help upgrade your bathroom (even if you don’t plan on selling, you should do this one for yourself anyways!) is adding a curved curtain rod! By using a slightly bowed out shape it gives you more room in the shower so you’re not always bumping into the shower curtain every time you go to grab shampoo.
Monthly Market Update
With the month of July coming to a close, that means it’s time for the Monthly Market Update! We’ve got the numbers for Kenosha, Racine, and Milwaukee to see what’s active on the market, what’s sold, and what does or doesn’t have an accepted offer, and what that might mean for you!
Kenosha
Of 500 home active on the market:
302 are active with an accepted offer
198 are active without an accepted offer
148 Properties sold in July
Racine
Of 572 homes active on the market:
316 are active with an accepted offer
256 are active without an accepted offer
190 Properties sold in July
Milwaukee
Of 1,672 homes active on the market:
1,152 are active with an accepted offer
520 are active without an accepted offer
589 Properties sold in July
Overall Thoughts: I know I might sound like a broken record at this point but numbers don’t lie; it’s a hot market right now. With over half the homes right now in all three markets having accepted offers, it’s showing us that buyers are not stopping and are on the hunt for their home, and a shortage of inventory only makes the market that much tighter.
What this means for sellers: If you’ve even had a thought or inkling about listing and selling your home, now would be the time! (Which, if you want to know what your home is worth, feel free to give me a call!)
What this means for buyers: Getting an accepted offer might be a bit tough. Put your best foot forward when you write an offer and don’t get discouraged if you have to write about more than one offer on a home. You’ll get there I know it!
