The Update! February Edition
Welcome back! To celebrate another month of The Update and Valentine’s Day coming up, it’s been decided to release this edition a week early! From Market Updates, to the Listing of The Month, to fun things to do this weekend to celebrate Valentine’s Day, we’ve got it all! There’s a lot to cover-so lets’ get to it!
Market Update
So, what does this all mean?
For Sellers, this means while sales numbers look a bit low right now, this special edition of the update is also coming out a week earlier than normal; so seeing numbers where they are now, some even half of where they were last month, means that February is getting ready to ramp up for the spring selling season! If you were planning to put your home on the market in March, consider putting it up now. With less inventory in February, means that a well priced home could stand out from the crowd, and draw in plenty of potential buyers.
For Buyers this means the market is already starting to warm up, and we haven’t even hit March-this is gonna be a crazy spring season, with record low inventory by the looks of it. (Though keep in mind this edition is being released a week earlier than normal.) If you’re finding properties you like with a decent price be competitive! There’s a good chance it’ll have multiple offers and asking price probably won’t win you the deal.
Talk with your agent if you have one (or hey, give me a call, and we can talk about it!) about ways you can make your offer better; from shorter inspection periods, to offering more money, or adding things like appraisal gaps (meaning if the property doesn’t appraise for the agreed upon price, you, the buyer will cover that gap by a certain amount of money.) And if you don’t get it, don’t get discouraged. This market has been crazy for the last 2 years, and will most likely stay that way for a while longer.
Valentine’s weekend ideas
If you’re anything like me, you know that sometimes, celebrating Valentine's Day on the actual day isn’t possible. And with Valentine’s Day coming up here on Monday, it can be hard to get time off to go do something with your special someone, some pals, or even yourself! So to help ensure that a fun Valentine’s Day is had by all, here’s a few events in the Kenosha-Racine-Milwaukee area happening this weekend that you should check out.

The Watsons Go To Birmingham-1963

Based on the award-winning book by Christopher Paul Curtis and adapted by Cheryl L. West, with original music by Paris Ray Dozier and directed by Brandite Reed and Jeff Frank, this journey into the deep South in 1963 reminds us of the importance of family, love and laughter to get through challenging times. Ten-year-old Kenny chronicles the events of a fateful summer for the Watson family of Flint, Michigan. When Kenny’s older brother Byron starts getting into too much trouble, Mama and Daddy decide the family needs to pay a visit to Grandma Sands in Alabama to set him straight. Mama, Daddy, Kenny, Byron and youngest sister Joetta set out on a cross-country journey, heading south and toward a moment in American history where the world seems to change before their eyes. Supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts.
