Hello Spring! 5 Tips to Help Transition Your Home from Winter to Spring

Oh my goodness FINALLY. It FINALLY feels like spring is upon us! Rain showers, flowers starting to bloom (which, my daffodils have finally made an appearance for the year-it was such a joy to see them come up again!) it’s all signs that spring is here to stay-at least for a little while.

With that said, it’s probably time to take your home from ‘Winter’ to ‘Spring’. And I don’t just mean things like getting your HVAC serviced (but seriously, do that) or putting the snow blower away. I mean changing the feeling of your home from ‘cozy winter home’ to ‘cozy, cheerful spring home’. And how do you do that you might ask? Fear not! I have five tips for you to help get you started.

Declutter and Deep Clean: Spring cleaning is a traditional activity for a reason. Start by decluttering your home and getting rid of any items that you no longer need or want. Then, deep clean your home by dusting, vacuuming, and mopping floors, washing windows and curtains, and wiping down surfaces.

  1. You’ll be surprised at how renewed you feel by just doing as simple as this!

  2. Swap Out Decor: Winter decor tends to be heavy and cozy, while spring decor is light and airy. Swap out your throw blankets, pillows, and curtains for lighter materials and brighter colors to give your home a fresh, springtime feel. You can also add some fresh flowers or plants to bring the outdoors inside.

  3. Change Up Your Lighting: As the days get longer and brighter, you'll want to adjust your lighting accordingly. Swap out your heavy drapes for lighter ones that let in more natural light, and switch out your light bulbs for ones that mimic natural daylight.

  4. Add Some Color: Spring is all about bright, cheerful colors. Consider adding some new accent pieces to your home, such as a colorful rug or a bright piece of artwork. You can also add some color to your outdoor space by planting some spring flowers or painting your front door a bright, welcoming color.

  5. Open Your Windows: Finally, take advantage of the warmer weather by opening your windows and letting in some fresh air. This can help to improve the air quality in your home and give your space a fresh, clean feeling.

By following these simple tips, you can quickly and easily transition your home from winter to spring and create a bright, welcoming space that you'll love spending time in.
